REFUND & CANCELLATION

This Refund & Returns Policy governs the terms under which customers may request a return or refund in connection with purchases made via this website (the “Site”), operated by Rangi Art Gallery (referred to as “we”, “us”, or “our”), acting both as gallery and artist. By purchasing through our Site, you agree to be bound by this policy in addition to our Terms and Conditions.

 

1. Nature of Products Sold

1.1 All artworks sold through our Site are original, physical works or limited edition physical prints, created and sold directly by the artist. Each item is unique or part of a strictly limited edition and is made, stored, and shipped with appropriate care.

1.2 Due to the nature of original and limited edition artwork, variations in texture, finish, or minor imperfections are characteristic of the medium and not considered faults.

 

2. Statutory Cancellation Rights (For UK Consumers Only)

2.1 If you are a consumer within the UK, and your purchase is not exempt under Clause 3, you may have the legal right to cancel your order within 14 days of delivery, in accordance with the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.

2.2 To exercise this right, you must notify us in writing at [insert contact email] within the cancellation period, quoting your order reference.

2.3 Upon approval, you must return the artwork to us in its original condition, using appropriate packaging (ideally the original packaging) and a tracked and insured courier service. The item must be returned within 14 days of your cancellation notice.

2.4 You are responsible for all return shipping costs, including insurance. If the returned item is damaged in transit due to insufficient packaging or failure to insure, you may lose your right to a refund.

2.5 We reserve the right to deduct a reasonable amount from any refund to reflect any loss in value arising from your handling of the artwork beyond what is necessary to establish its nature and condition.

 

3. Non-Cancellable and Non-Returnable Items

You do not have a right to cancel or return in the following situations:

  • Artwork that has been customised, commissioned, or made to your specifications;

  • Limited editions that have been produced or framed to order;

  • Items that have been unsealed, damaged, or tampered with after delivery;

  • Any artwork that is not in the same resaleable condition in which it was delivered.

 

4. Damaged or Faulty Items

4.1 If you receive an artwork that has been damaged in transit, you must notify us within 48 hours of delivery, including clear photographic evidence of both the packaging and the item.

4.2 If the item is found to be materially faulty or has been misdescribed, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or full refund. This is subject to the condition that:

  • The fault is not the result of mishandling or improper care after receipt;

  • You followed our instructions for unboxing, storage, and display.

4.3 If the damage is the result of a shipping issue and you declined any optional shipping insurance, you acknowledge and accept the risk of loss or damage and may not be entitled to a refund.

 

5. Risk, Title, and Delivery

5.1 Title to the artwork passes to you only upon full payment being received by us.

5.2 Risk in the artwork, including risk of loss, damage, or theft, passes to you once the item is collected by the courier or shipping service for delivery to your specified address. We are not liable for any loss, damage, or delay once the item has left our possession.

5.3 We strongly recommend opting for insured, tracked delivery services, particularly for higher-value pieces. You acknowledge that if you decline additional insurance, you bear the associated risk.

 

6. Returns Procedure

6.1 All returns must be pre-authorised by contacting us at [insert email]. We will provide the necessary return address and guidance.

6.2 Unauthorised returns or items returned to the wrong address will not be accepted and may not be refunded.

6.3 Returned artwork must be:

  • In its original condition, securely packaged;

  • Accompanied by proof of purchase, and

  • Returned using a tracked and insured delivery service.

 

7. Refund Process

7.1 Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within 14 days of our receipt and inspection of the returned item.

7.2 Refunds will be made to the original payment method. We cannot refund to alternative accounts or issue cash equivalents.

7.3 Original delivery costs will only be refunded where the entire order is cancelled under your statutory rights and the item is returned in satisfactory condition.

 

8. Artistic Integrity & Authenticity

8.1 As both the gallery and the artist, we take the authenticity and integrity of our work seriously. We reserve the right to deny any return or refund request where we reasonably believe that:

  • The artwork has been tampered with, modified, or altered;

  • The claim is fraudulent or misrepresents the condition of the artwork.

 

9. Governing Law

This Refund Policy shall be governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Nothing in this Policy affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
