I'm Dave, an artist inspired by nature, family, and culture.  

My journey with art began as a way to express myself and nurture my mental health and wellbeing. What started as a personal escape soon blossomed into a profound passion for creating meaningful, evocative pieces that resonate with others.

The word Rangi (pronounced "Rung-ee") holds deep meaning for me—it’s a Swahili word that translates to “colour”. Growing up in Kenya, I was surrounded by rich landscapes, bold patterns, and vibrant storytelling; elements that continue to shape my work today. I am inspired by the way art connects us to our emotions, our stories, and each other.

 

Now living in Wales, I’m constantly moved by the beauty of my surroundings - rolling hills, moody skies, ancient woodland, and quiet coastal edges. These landscapes offer a deep sense of grounding and reflection, and they’ve become an integral part of how I see and create.

Each piece you’ll find here is crafted with care, inspired by moments of reflection, connection, and beauty in the everyday. I work with acrylics, watercolours, and ink to explore themes of human connection, natural beauty, and culture, inviting viewers to pause and reflect.
